The corporate media is an extension of the corporate state. The rewriting of history is never so blatant as is depicted in Orwell's 1984. Usually it begins as below with one media outlet changing the facts. The official story of 9/11 has been so thoroughly lacerated that it now requires some repair. So one paper will do something like this, then it will be cited by others, and eventually we have a new, more supportable narrative. History textbooks, if they mention the Atta-at-the-titty-bar episode at all, will do so only to note that it was fallacious.
Not since nearly 50 years ago when the CIA tried to pass off a man shown in two black and white photographs taken outside the Cuban Embassy in Mexico City as Lee Harvey Oswald, has the truth been so openly and casually violated as during the ferocious campaign to roll back some of what was already known and on the public record about Mohamed Atta in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack....When former Shuckum's bar manager Tony Amos re-affirmed his initial account in an interview last week with the Miami Herald, it became strikingly apparent that, with no explanation at all, and without any retraction from him or the major news outlets which reported his account, the quickly-congealing official story had changed Mohamed Atta from a belligerent drunk pounding down Stoli and orange juice to a meek teetotaler sipping cranberry juice and playing video games.
Atta was an Islamic extremist who led a band of like-minded terrorists and brought down the three WTC buildings in an act of war against infidels whom he hated for their freedoms--that's the official story, risible though it may be, and anything which belies it must silently and surreptitiously disappear.
