The student walkout has breathed new energy into the O-Seattle movement. At the GA tonight, despite the best efforts of our "supporter" Mayor McSolidarity and the "liberal" Seattle blogosphere, an overwhelming majority voted to remain at Westlake Center.
I must confess that from the beginning I was pretty pessimistic about O-Seattle, and I still have concerns and doubts, but the movement has survived and is at this moment stronger than ever.
The acid test comes tonight. In defying the order to vacate Westlake, the city will no doubt move to evict. Arrests are inevitable. Can the O-Seattle movement be thwarted by mass detention? We shall see, and soon.
