I fear that Uganda is headed for a bloodbath. It's proximity to Rwanda and the DRC, particularly its mineral-rich southeast, make it strategically important for international capital. Uganda's head, Museveni, is utterly ruthless and corrupt, and determined to stay in power. As dissent grows, so does his reaction. It does not appear that he is the type of man to step aside if it is in the best interests of the country. If I read him correctly, he might even defy his corporate partners should they urge him to go. The future looks pretty bleak for Ugandans.
