What's up Seattle? The protest at Westlake only drew about a hundred or so, disappointing.
It went well enough. The police were respectful (a good number of whom are privately quite sympathetic), and it was more like group therapy than a demonstration. Maybe Sunday will be better. I hope so as dissatisfaction with government and Wall Street is much broader than the pitiful turn-out would suggest.
I know many are afraid to rally with us for fear of being abused by the police. The video of NYPD macing defenseless, peaceful protesters went viral on the web and it has had quite a chilling effect. Needless to say, I cannot predict what the police will do, but if Saturday was any indication one needn't worry. I witnessed no aggressive behavior by police or protesters.
If you agree with us that the time for change, real change, has come, then please join us at Westlake on Sunday.
