No Easy Path Through the Embers: resistance and repression in South Africa’s shack settlements

South Africa is an enormously wealthy nation, with mineral and agricultural resources that are the envy of the rest of the developing world, yet the poor are worse off than ever before. As far as issues of economic justice are concerned, this Black government is no better than the White government it replaced.
