Interview With The Great Arundhati Roy, Gotta Be Seen To Be Believed

It's all here in a nutshell. All of it! If there is anyone out there who still believes that the large, international media are the fourth estate; that they are independent of government or class loyalty; that they serve the interest of the public; that they try to convey the truth such as they understand it; then you need to see this video. As you do, please note how the loathsome interviewer, Sagarika Ghose, Senior Editor CNN-IBN, the military-industrial-media complex' woman in Delhi, tries to bait Roy with captious, facile, and tendentious questions. Please note further that at the end Ghose mischaracterizes Roy's answers in a dismissive, condescending tone intended to discredit. This is slander of an outspoken, uncowed activist undertaken by the media on behalf of its bourgeois patrons. Ghose makes no effort to conceal her hostility, nor does she ask a single question which might elicit an ingratiating response. Everything Ghose put to Roy was an attempt to get the latter to say something that could be used against her. What occurs in this interview has nothing to do with journalism. It is defamation directed against a woman who has become a thorn in the side of the ruling class. This is Macchiavellian! It is as close to good versus evil as one can come where human beings are concerned.

Fortunately, Ghose was in over her head in this case. It is clear to anybody with two IQ points to rub together that the interviewer was eclipsed in courage, intelligence, originality, and humanity.
