UNICEF says 26 children killed in Yemen protests
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
GENEVA: The UN children’s fund says 26 children have been killed during violent protests in Yemen over the last two months.
UNICEF spokeswoman Marixie Mercado said Tuesday that most of the children killed in clashes between security forces and anti-government demonstrators died of wounds from live ammunition.
Opposition groups in Yemen have staged a series of protests demanding the ouster of longtime President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
