Bolivian workers strike against government salary decree

I hate to say it but the Bolivarian revolution has failed or been co-opted. Chavez has turned out to be a clown (or worse); Evo Morales is making decisions which are very hard to square with his professed philosophy; and Correa in Ecuador is being sued by that country's indigenous whose lands he keeps leasing to multinationals in the name of growth. These three have been better than their predecessors, and they have made an impact with their welfare programs, but none of them are devolving real political power into the hands of the people.

There is hope. Their popularity, once sky high, has been steadily dwindling. Let's hope the people of those countries will revive Bolivarianism by taking power directly into their own hands.
